Databases
The databases BlixtFS can use for its metadata index, and when to choose each.

| PostgreSQL | Supported | The default, and the right choice for almost every deployment. Embedded in the single-node images and bundled with the Helm chart. Works with managed services such as Cloud SQL, Amazon RDS and Azure Database for PostgreSQL. |
| MySQL | Available | Environments that standardise on MySQL. |
| SQLite | Available | Small deployments on a single machine with no separate database server. |
| Google Cloud Spanner | Preview | Very large deployments on Google Cloud. |
Contact us before running a production deployment on anything other than PostgreSQL.
Choose the database with database.type (or DATABASE_TYPE). BlixtFS creates
its tables itself at startup.
