MinIO

Point BlixtFS at a MinIO deployment, with its endpoint and access keys.

Create a bucket

  1. Install MinIO on your server or use an existing deployment.
  2. Open the MinIO Console, or use the CLI:
mc mb myminio/my-bucket

Credentials and permissions

  1. Use your MinIO access key and secret key. These work the same as S3 credentials.
  2. Set the endpoint URL to your MinIO server address (for example https://minio.example.com).
  3. Enter these in BlixtFS during setup.

Project

MinIO has no project concept of its own, so this is a label BlixtFS groups the buckets under internally. It does not appear in the mount path, which is minio/BUCKET. Set it with MINIO_PROJECT, --minio_project or cloud.minio.project.

The project is required when MinIO is enabled. Startup fails without it.

Endpoint

The MinIO server’s URL, set with --minio_endpoint or cloud.minio.endpoint. It defaults to http://localhost:9000, which is almost never right outside a test deployment. --minio_use_ssl (cloud.minio.use_ssl) selects TLS for MinIO connections.
