Installation
Choose how to run BlixtFS, prepare your cloud account, install the server and connect your first clients.

Most teams should start with Docker. One container runs the whole of BlixtFS, including its database, and serves NFS and SMB. You can move to Kubernetes later without touching your data, because the data lives in your bucket.
Steps
- Check the requirements: a host with Docker, local disk for cache and staging, and network access to your cloud provider.
- Pick a release. Versions explains how releases are numbered and which image tag to pin.
- Prepare your bucket and credentials. Cloud credentials lists what each provider needs, including permissions for change notifications.
- Install BlixtFS with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Connect clients over NFS, SMB or SFTP. See Connecting clients.
- Optionally, install a license to enable Enterprise or High Performance features. See Licensing.
