Privacy Policy

This policy covers blixtsoftware.com, including the documentation, and the BlixtFS software. Blixt Pty Ltd is responsible for the information described here.

The software collects nothing

BlixtFS runs on your machines and in your cloud accounts. It sends us no telemetry, no usage statistics and no diagnostics. Licences are verified on your own server, without contacting us, so running the software tells us nothing about you.

Your files stay in your own object storage. We never receive them, and we have no access to them.

What the website collects

When you contact us. The enterprise trial form asks for your name, email address, company and country, and optionally the storage backends and protocols you use, your node count, your use case and a message. We email that to ourselves and reply to it. It lands in our mailbox rather than a database, and we use it only to answer you and to keep track of the conversation.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser and records the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use. We look at this in aggregate; we do not try to identify anyone from it.

Server logs. The site runs on Google App Engine, which logs requests. Those logs include IP addresses, and we use them to keep the site working and secure.

Who else sees it

Google, as the provider of Analytics, App Engine and the mail service we use, processes this information on our behalf, which means it may be handled outside Australia. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we are dealing with you and for as long afterwards as our records require. Analytics and server logs are kept for the periods those services apply to them. Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Cookies

The only cookies the site sets are the ones Google Analytics uses. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Nothing on the site stops working without them. The site does not carry advertising and we do not use tracking pixels.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us or support@blixtsoftware.com, and we will answer within a reasonable time.

If you are in a place with its own privacy rules, such as the European Union or the United Kingdom, those rights apply to you as that law provides.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page.
